Was getting hit on by a trans person. He asked "would you date me even though I'm trans." Now, the moment I have been long awaiting for, the opportune time to unveil my own asexuality. I said to him: "I don't like men or women buddy, you never stood a chance."
A risky maneuver to be sure, but fortunately he found it funny.
I made a mistake in not doing much research when buying my new cell phone. I had been using an iPhone 6s that I ran into the ground until last year. I replaced it with a galaxy a35 because it was cheap and had a long battery life. I don't use my cell phone for anything really other than work so I didn't need anything fancy. Little did I know, I bought just about the only samsung device that doesn't support custom firmware of any kind.
I've been growing increasingly tech literate and conscious of my...
The first draft lyics for a song im writing
Here I lie amidst the lies
My chest is burdened with flies
My leaden mind is free at last
Come and sink your teeth into me
Come and drink the polyethylene
A temple desecrated with plastic blight
No one to mourn this pathetic life
The perps walk free on their golden path
Come and sink your teeth into me
Come and drink the polyethylene
Under a smoggy sky
Finally, yet all too soon
I'm now a thing of the past
Come and sink your teeth into...
Happy Mother's Day! I still like to celebrate this day, even though I cut off contact with my mother. I tend to do something a little nostalgic and/or go out of my way to do things that she would disprove of. I stopped at the convenience store on the way home from work and bought a king size bag of peanut M&Ms, and ate them while watching Pokemon - The First Movie. I loved this movie as a kid until Pokemon was banned from the household because it was demonic and promoted evolution, which as we as...
My first PC was an old dell optiplex running Windows 7 that my father stole from his workplace in the chaos of his whole department getting shuddered. I convinced him to let me have it so I could play his collection of old PC games. Age of Empires II, Star Wars: Dark Forces, Daggerfall, some real classics. It was a weird machine with some kind of coprorate proprietary software on it that restricted a lot of it's functions, including the ability to factory reset. My father somehow still managed to put...
Here is a long rant about Monster Hunter, the two dev teams warring over it's identity, and how it's changed so drastically since it's early incarnations.
Monster Hunter, now one of Capcom's flagship series, had humble beginnings as a multiplayer-focused game on Sony's PlayStation 2 back in 2004, or 2005 if you lived outside of Japan. It was a moderate success, with an iconic cast of Monsters to hunt, a tedious but relaxing emphasis on foraging, and archaic controls even for the time. It's not where I...
Just scored a new (to me) guitar today for like 300 bucks. A 1977 Greco Supersounds. Im super stoked about it so now you're gonna get guitar lore dumped.
Our story begins with Leo Fender selling out his brand to a big corporation in the 70s. Big corpo does what big corpos do and starts cutting corners, enacting "cost saving measures," etc. While still charging premium Fender prices. Meanwhile, over in Japan there's a huge demand for Fenders but they're kinda hard to get and they're barely even worth it...
I'm a late night fast food manager. Here how my day usually goes:
arrive at 10:00pm to a filthy store. It's dirty because evening shift is all teenagers who don't give a fuck (not that I blame them necessarily) and cleaning is "night shift's job"
everyone leaves except my 3 trusty late night warriors. (Evening shift averages 20 people per shift)
we do 6k (USD) in sales because we're the only 24h location in town
store is still dirty because my team didnt have time to do anything other than...
I feel so disconnected from humanity. I grew up isolated and abused in a "homeschool" environment with parents who didn't love me and siblings who are just as fucked up as I am. I escaped and spent (and am still spending) years building a proper sense of how to be a human adult. I've done pretty well for myself. I can hold a conversation and make eye contact without having a panic attack or overthinking every minutiae of the interaction in retrospect. I got my anger issues under control. I've even been...
so, a trans person came out to me. They aren't fully out, just to their closest friends. They told me their chosen name, but they also are changing the name when presenting as their birth gender. So they have a deadname, a new name with the same gender as their deadname, and then their trans name. As he was explaining this to me, I saw the stars align and made a once in a lifetime joke. I began quoting the passage from Dune where Paul is given his fremen names.
Paul is given a new name to use in...
Just finished the Halo: CE campaign for the first time, and I'm about to speak some heresy. I feel like... It wasn't that good? the art direction and worldbuilding are impeccable, of course. However the gunplay felt a little weak and the level design is the most repetitive dog shit I've ever seen.
I had more fun playing Marathon than Halo which is absolutely NOT the outcome I was expecting.
Anybody have any industrial/electronic PS1 OST recommendations? I'm putting the finishing touches on a mixtape to stuff in my little sister's stocking for christmas. Licensed stuff is OK.
Here's a few of the tracks I'm putting in there. Grip - Armored Core, Roll The Dice - Need for Speed: High Stakes, Silverstone - F1 Racing Championship
