I made a mistake in not doing much research when buying my new cell phone. I had been using an iPhone 6s that I ran into the ground until last year. I replaced it with a galaxy a35 because it was cheap and had a long battery life. I don't use my cell phone for anything really other than work so I didn't need anything fancy. Little did I know, I bought just about the only samsung device that doesn't support custom firmware of any kind.

I've been growing increasingly tech literate and conscious of my digital security. I've been de-googling, switched to linux on my main machine, and sought to replace the OS on my phone only to learn I bought one of the few phones you can't reasonably de-google. I don't use my phone enough to justify dropping a few hundred on a new one already, so I guess I'll just accept the loss for now.
