80s movies are so Hit and Miss

I've recently started binge watching many of the originals of the biggest franchises(particularly horror) of the 80s - 90s and they range from amazing to almost comedically bad.

  • Evil Dead: the original started off quite goofy but the second one really jumped the gun from horror to comedy. Couldn't bring myself to watch the third installment, boring and only barely funny.

  • Jurassic Park: The first is a masterpiece and then it progressively got worse. I plan on watching the Jurassic World series in a...

Some people. I just can't...

Some people amaze me in a bad way, I just had a three hour train with the worst person ever.

Firstly they skipped the line when getting into the train loudly arguing with whoever opposed them. Then got mad when nobody wanted to help them with the stroller.

They had with them two kids (what seemed like a 2yr old and an less than 1yr old one) and they shouted and screamed the whole ride, now I don't fault the person for the behaviour of kids this young but at least try to keep them occupied. They were just...

Update on the dark arts

I was finally able to fix the issue I explained last time. And the fix was...being connected to tailscale but not using the server as an exit node(plus some ip shenanigans). I was so exstatic that I decided to try to setup ollama with openwebui as frontend and searXNG as search engine but the web search functionality isn't working(and that is kind of bad news when working with 1b-7b models)

Computer science should be considered dark arts

I'm currently in the midst of setting up a server running truenas scale and I've kind of reached a breaking point. I'm trying to make it possible to access opencloud via tailscale but can't seem to make it work. And thus I wondered, how tf are people doing it alone? Even having counteless tutorials, the allknowing AI and reddit I have no idea tf I'm doing. Cs majors, what kind of ancient gods have you called upon to deal with this mess of dns, proxy, reverse proxy and tunneling shenanigans.

Not a cs...

I hate (marvel movies) Ironman

I was talking to a friend and when the conversation moved on to marvel heroes he kept saying that his favorite superhero was Ironman, I just can't see the point though. If Ironman were a real person I'd absolutely hate him. He's everything wrong with the billionaires of today and much more. He made his money selling weapons to terrorists, he consistently cheats on his lovers, he believes he's above the law, he suffers from the classic "he's the smartest human ever! but not enough to be actually useful to...

Boredom is permeating (update 1)

Decided to do a small update to talk about the changes I experienced during my distancing from social medias and going back on a diet.

Diet:

The diet proved to be easier to follow than expected, I mainly removed afternoon snacks and then replaced most calorie dense foods with lighter alternatives. The main issue I'm facing is portion size, I still tend to eat a bit more than I should.

Social Media:

My screen time had initially dropped substantially but soon I started filling up that gained time...

Embracing boredom and getting back on my diet

I decided to cut back on "fast" dopamine sources with the intent of going back to enjoying the small things in life. I removed all my social medias (except for cyberspace), unhealthy food cravings and have left myself only four options when bored: Studying, reading, gaming, watching movies or long-form content, eating healthy snacks(carrots, apples, drinking water).

I intend on making this my new norm. I'll update if anybody is interested and/or if there's something worth updating.
