What it means to be a human

There are times where I wonder what it means to be a human.

Humans have no meaning.

The universe is and would be with or without humans.

We just are.

We are here not for rhyme or a reason.

The only thing keeping us here being this "need".

This need to live, to scuttle around aimlessly. To distract ourself until our gear stop turning.

I don't believe in god, a god would not do this. A god would not toy around with its creations.

The universe is a machine, one that churns years, decades centuries, millennia into dust.

Dust into life, life into dust.

A machine with nothing but the will to move.

We are here because of collapsed stars and imploding black holes.

And yet that makes us nothing more than a broken led on a Times Square billboard.

Our mind nothing more than a cruel joke of fate. Able to percieve oneself as nothing with no future and no reason but nothing more than that.

We live because we do.

We do because we live.
