finally!

after two months the pain in my wrist is mild enough that I think I can start lifting again next week. I wanted to start last week but the universe intervened and I got incredibly sick.

feeling better now. wrist feels good. able to do a lot of bodywork (pullups, pushups) without any discomfort. time to get back in the gym. :)

my wrist isn't killing me for the first time in six weeks

five days after adding tb-500 to my recovery stack for my wrist and today I have \~98% range of motion back. last night I was able to get into my gym and limit test a little and not only can I handle almost all movements aside from standard curls with minimal to no pain or discomfort, but I've only lost a little bit of capacity at the top end of the bigger lifts - a few reps of max weight on the chest press primarily. nothing major. I'm both happy and a little surprised. I think I can start lifting again...

sleep experiments update

quick recap: I've been trying to improve my sleep as it's become worse and worse over the past few months, especially since my wrist injury. primary issue: waking multiple times a night from overheating, joint pain, etc. originally I was having horrible insomnia as well and unable to fall asleep before 1-2am.

Original changes included finding a sleep mask that fits over the CPAP mask, 3g of glycine 30-60 minutes before bed, keeping the room as cold as possible, enforcing a bedtime between 10 and 11pm,...

float tank

I went to a place with float tanks yesterday - float in salt water in an isolation pod for an hour. enjoyed it thoroughly. highly recommend for anyone who already meditates. my wifes does not and did not have a good time.

random stack and protocol update

finishing up doing a few low test doses of TB-500 to confirm no reaction - tests went well, so will start adding that to my recovery stack later this week. wrist is healing well enough but still slowly. daily PT exercises progressing but still painful afterward. progress is progress and I'm trying to stay upbeat.

continue to have sleep issues - waking up multiple times a night overheating. I had switched to a "cooling" weighted blanket and it's better but still really warm. I guess that's the nature of...

road to recovery

roughly ~4.5 weeks ago, I injured my wrist lifting. not all at once. I think I overdid it for a while, it was uncomfortable for about a week or a week and a half, and then a heavy deadlift attempt left me with numbness and tingling up my forearm. diagnosis was tendonitis - heavy sprain, near tear, possibly microtears.

I haven't lifted in a little over four weeks now, which is mentally more taxing than I had thought it would be. it really sucks losing your primary outlet. lifting heavy is meditative...

I dislike project managers

I don't believe project management is a real job. PMs exist to justify their existence.

Case in point: PM tells me today that my primary project needs the hands on demo delivered today by midnight. Drop dead, make it happen, can't be late. Ok, so I'm now hurridly cleaning every repo and pushing new versions to github, building docker images, exporting them to tarballs for handoff, writing instructions for use, etc. To find out from my boss - the PMs boss also - that the demo is next week, project work...
