brush your teeth, love, do it over

Often it may seem that life is simply the repetition of mundane happenings. That life is composed only of the "chores" you do between now and then. So much in life seems to be the building of life, rather than living it. I believe this perception is fair, but misguided. When we cut a length of time in half, we see that the arrow never moves. Neither do you. But in this case, what is it that does occur? Surely, there must be something that happens in between?

First, you wake up, then you go to work.

Well, first you wake up, then you eat, and finally you go to work.

Oh, well actually... I guess you wake up, you brush your teeth, you have your coffee, kiss the wife, pet the dog, build the perfect queue, and then you go to work. Right?

There is never movement, only moments. Frames and stills which culminate in "a life."

We are told that it is "the journey" but without motion, without movement, when does "the journey" happen? How does "the journey" happen? Life is beautiful this way; the journey, like the destination, will happen regardless. The arrow reaches the end no matter our intent or our measurements. But first, you must draw. You must do something. Otherwise this composition is that of a life sat still.

My point being, dear reader, you have to brush your teeth. Only then can life happen.
