Why bother?
I have to try. For the chance that it will matter.

Saw a Youtube short that really resonated with me. I don't subscribe to the jaded beliefs of others, I want to believe the best of any situation, even when I know it might bite me in the back someday. I don't understand what a person has to go through in order to think that way, to not even consider the idea that a well intentioned compliment or money for the poor will result in something better. It's such a defeatist, finalist mindset. As if wherever someone is at their lowest can't be changed, no matter what you do.
This has me thinking I should start carrying cash in case I come across someone who might need it
