Reprogramming my brain to feel pleasure again

As I previously wrote, I'm dealing with my problems with perceiving pleasure, specifically with video games. And guess what? I completed a full game since then.

Chosen one was "Castlevania: order of Ecclesia". I really like this one, it is the fifth time I played through it, so I can compare the feelings. Let's summarize.

  • I liked to explore the place. A bit lineal in the first half, but great in Dracula's castle.
  • Didn't like a lot the hardest bosses. I could go through everyone, but felt them a bit try, and try, and try another time... not my favorite mechanic, but it's in most action video games right now.
  • Didn't need to make an effort, some days I was even happy to return home and play.
  • Still, a bit gray experience. It's very obvious I don't feel fun in the same way I did years before.

So... good new, I felt good. Bad new, probably won't work with a lot of other games.

Perhaps it's time to play a game I didn't play ever.
