I've started to feel comfortable with rejection

Yesterday I received an email from a publisher. I knew it was going to be a rejection, but I feel some fear it wasn't. When I confirmed they didn't want my book, I feel relieved. And I asked me why.

I don't know if they read my text. They only asked for an editorial proposition and a single chapter. The text they sent me wasn't personal at all.

Yesterday I was thinking about this when I drove.

"It's no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society"

  • Jiddu Krishnamurti

So, I believe that a corollary is that if a company is making money in a profoundly sick society, that's not a measure of the best practices.

You can tell me that rejection it's not a guaranty at all that I'm doing it right, and indeed it can be an excuse to myself. Perhaps I'm not a good writer, but I've lived a lot in this life to justify myself against anyone.

Truth is, I don't like these publishers and the books they publish. When I see their behavior in social media (when I rarely look...) and book presentations I want to directly want to go to Mongolia (2.24 inhabitants per km²).

Honestly, I don't want to be part of that world. I think that’s why I feel relieved and vindicated by failure.

It was a nice day.
