[ESC]Russian TikTok, Soviet upbringing, and judging people for how they look
Hi everyone.
I want to talk a bit about Russian TikTok and that disgusting part of our population.
If you open TikTok without a VPN, it's pure darkness. The videos aren't just outdated, they're truly disgusting, and so is the content.
Example: a mother walks up to her son, who's watching some video lesson, and starts screaming: "Seryozha (a boy's name), what the fuck is this?! What the fuck are you watching?!"
The son calmly answers: "I'm studying, it's a literature lesson."
The mother makes him let her listen to what he's watching, and I guess that's where the video suddenly ends.
The boy looks really young, maybe 9(?), with blond or bleached hair. It's shaved all around in a circle, and only the medium-length hair on top is tied up in a ponytail.
Comments:
"Are you raising Seryozha or Snezhana (a girl's name)?)"
"I don't get the point of cutting boys' hair like that"
"Why does he look like a chick"
Fucking shameful. Where do these assholes come from? Why do they even care how people look?
And there are a fucking ton of people like this in Russia. I think it comes from Soviet and post-Soviet upbringing, where everyone had to look and act the same, and anyone different was a problem.
I've been judged for how I look. I grew my hair out, cut it, dyed it a lot. And yes, I had to deal with it myself and fight. But my mom never judged me. She always let me do whatever I wanted with myself, and if she forbade something, I just did it anyway. And I always told her that if there were any problems or conflicts, I'd handle them myself.
I just hope that kid has someone who's on his side. Everyone deserves that.
Question: how are things in your countries when it comes to appearance? I think everything should be within reason, but not as extreme as in my example.
