[ESC]A Bar Counter.
Hey everyone,
So I wanted to talk a bit about my job. I really love being a bartender, and when I write here, sometimes I imagine I'm standing behind the bar. The bar gives me confidence, and talking to all kinds of people from all walks of life makes it even more interesting and educational(?). Plus, it's another way to drown out the noise in my own head.
I also wanted to say that the bar lets you talk to anyone as equals, respectfully — not like staff talking to a customer.
Every Wednesday we have live jazz, and every Wednesday a 90-year-old gentleman drops by. He orders a bottle of wine, drinks about 200 ml, and we put the rest in the fridge until his next visit a week later. Every time he comes in, he tells us some story from his long life.
And here's what I'm curious about: do you have any funny (or not) stories — ones you've told yourselves, heard, or witnessed while sitting at a bar?
