Considered selling my flipper0 for a while. So glad I didn’t. Love this little thing for work and hobbies!

I was talking with a friend yesterday. I tend to view things in a very symbolic or metaphysical way. I believe that we're all meant to learn a singular lesson, or a handful of lessons in this life that we take with us into the next one.

I think the lesson I'm supposed to learn is how to be brave. What do you think your lesson is?

Why do you choose the operating system you do? Hype up your favorite OS or complain about others. Why do you do what you do?

I feel that all too often, people forget that humans are animals as much as bears, lynxes and elk. We have a nature, we have instincts. I believe ignoring this earthbound nature gives rise to a lot of problems.

I recently started another playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 and while it'll eternally be one of my top games of all time, I found it hit a different chord with me now.

When I first played it, I felt very gloomy and unhopeful about the future. I was able to resonate with the themes of determined future, hopeless circumstances and fighting against forces bigger than me. I still feel those things, though more often in passing. The world of Cyberpunk genuinely scares me now that I'm at a more stable and...

For the past year I've been caught in a waking dream. Alternating between to points of being, in and out of focus. Like a boomerang spinning from one extreme to the next. A pair of wolves chasing the sun and the moon.

Then I realize it's been like this for many more years. More than I'm comfortable admitting. Echoes of people in other people. Bits of words in conversation repeated. The same hounds are chasing me around the same tree trunk and my hands have worn grooves into the bark where I'll grab again...

neo-faustian bargain

When I worked at a datacenter, my coworkers and I would have a lot of fun theoretical discussions stemming from sci-fi. This was in the before-times (see: COVID), and the consensus was that all of them except me would gladly upload their consciousnesses to the cloud / get a neural implant chip if it was available.

What about you guys? With the rapid development of AI and all of its tentacles these past few years... would you digitize yourself willingly, or remain forever organic...

Wisdom is best when shared

One of my goals for my life is to become an old person with all sorts of useful stories and bits of wisdom. I want to be like Merlin, sincerely, when I'm old and a grandpa.

So drop your piece of wisdom into the well. What have you seen, experienced or thought about that would benefit mankind?

For me: service is the best form of therapy.

While I got along with everyone as a child, it was difficult for me to make lasting friendships. I knew everyone in my grade, and they knew me. I never had any serious bad blood or bullying. I drifted listlessly in a sort of friendship limbo. Neither stranger nor best friend to any of my peers.

Online friendships seem to come about a little easier, as is the case for many people these days. Maybe it's the reduced communication channels. The I/O of dealing with text or voice only isn't likely to overwhelm....

Do dreams mean anything?

I've had some pretty disturbing and vivid dreams throughout my life. I've always found them fascinating, and it was a topic of study for me in college. It's widely debated, and the rational among us dismiss them as just chemical cocktails. I like to think they mean something, and in fact, I think they connect all of us to something deeper.

I had a dream some time ago. My siblings and I were standing at the base of a large oak tree with my father. He told us that we were...
