Do dreams mean anything?

I've had some pretty disturbing and vivid dreams throughout my life. I've always found them fascinating, and it was a topic of study for me in college. It's widely debated, and the rational among us dismiss them as just chemical cocktails. I like to think they mean something, and in fact, I think they connect all of us to something deeper.

I had a dream some time ago. My siblings and I were standing at the base of a large oak tree with my father. He told us that we were going to fight each other, but our weapons and armor were hanging from tree branches. We had to climb the boughs to grab them. As we did, I saw us get older. And once we climbed down with our swords and our guns, we didn't want to fight anymore.
