[ESC]Mortality
So, I recently spent some time in the hospital. Blood infection, kidney infection. It was definitely very not good.
When it began, I initially thought it was a cold. I had a fever and chills, so I figured "sleep it off".
My better judgment (my other half) insisted I go to the ER. So I did. Turned out, I was about a half a day away from septic shock.
A week later, and lots of time to think, I realize that's the closest I've ever been to dying, and it's got me feeling a bit more grateful for the life I do have.
Moral of the story: Don't second guess yourself and don't take your life for granted.
