For a long time I worked as a freelance illustrator. I created a few artworks depicting "Lord of the Rings" in an "Ukiyo-e" style. The idea behind it was that the events that occurred in "Middle-earth" impacted the East as well, and I imagined an eastern traveler who heard these stories and the bravery of the heroes in them, returned home and told them to the people in the East. The artists in the East then depicted these stories in their style. My goal with the artworks was also for it to look authentic, which is very difficult to do digitally. Any person with a trained eye or familiarity with "Ukiyo-e" will be able to notice immediately that it is not an old artwork, but I tried to get it good enough that you would have to take a second to be sure.
