Follow up on the disc burning venture to back up my DVDs and BluRays to a NAS for neater storage and streaming.

Was planning on using makemkv but for one reason or another it's not letting me flash the disc drive I bought with the custom firmware. Troubleshot several stuff already that was in the setup guide and even tried some force commands but it most likely is being blocked by my trying to do it through the USB ports with the data to USB cord. Fix would be to plug it into a SATA port, but none of my many computational devices has a SATA data port. I only have a SATA power supply slot and M.2 SATA SSD expansion ports that are in use even if I some how COULD use if for the drive to flash new firmware. Last thing I could try is using a USB A→C adapter to check if it wouldn't give that error on my laptop running windows instead of Linux but that doesn't sound like it will yield much difference.....
