Backrooms Preview IMPRESSIONS ONLY

So backrooms comes out tomorrow, but as many of you probably know already advertisements always say the date of the Friday before the weekend but most places will also have it the Thursday before... SO OF COURSE I had to go see it as soon as possible! Anytime there's a movie I know I'm going to like I catch the Thursday preview.

The movie held itself FANTASTICALLY. You don't need to know every bit of lore of the Pixels-Series and especially not lore from the wiki all the bandwagon games that popped up on steam got their levels inspiration from. You'd think after seeing so many games based on it pop up on YouTube playthroughs it might desensitize you to Backrooms content in general, but nah King Kane pulled up to remind us he owns a whole wing of the Backrooms that keeps it fresh and in the progression of stakes from the YouTube series which distinguishes it from all the rest.

Even the soundtrack gives off that familiar but different feeling. I remember hearing what I thought was The Caretaker as first and then realizing it was actually a remixed and distorted version of We'll Meet Again.

I'll definitely watch it again with friends and or family when I get home from my work travels, my sister mentioned there might be 4DX showings for it at a nearby Regal, she's only ever seen the original found footage when I brought up backrooms once. She and I exist on different sides of the internet so it was her first time hearing about the concept at all, but I think she'll enjoy the movie as well. I'll see if I can't convince my friends to do a two-fer when we go to see The Amazing Digital Circus in theaters when I get back (which, by the way, they had a trailer for before the Backrooms showing! Love to see YouTube come to theaters)
