Cybersecurity distro

I’m looking for a distro to start getting into Cybersec.

I know kali is the gold standard for the industry but I dislike the way it presents all its tools, you get EVERYTHING and I don’t generally agree with that philosophy.

ParrotOS seems like a decent alternative and I like how the whole system feels more cohesive and I really like the privacy aspects to it.

Blackarch is what I’m kinda leaning towards due to me understanding and daily driving Arch and arch based systems. I love the philosophy and the Arch documentation is amazing. But I understand this is taking a bit of a dive off the deep end into cybersecurity distros.

All that said, I don’t want to be the kind of guy that dives headfirst into cybersecurity without really understanding anything. I have used tools like Nmap, wireshark, etc and understand how they work and I have a good grasp of networking from building my homelab. Is it better for me to start at Kali like everyone else or is it a viable option to go to Blackarch?
