A devoted space fan and a tech enthusiast.
I plan to run Arch linux soon on my uconsole. I will obviously have Astralixi running on top as the userspace when it becomes daily-drive-able.
What's the best Arch linux setup guide that I can follow for ARM64, thats actually fun and not just following instructions.
My first linux distro was Arch linux in a VM, but i didnt have much fun as I just shot questions and terminal output at AI until I had some success. This time I want to do it without ANY AI intervention.
Anyone here looking for a project to help?
I would be very happy if someone or a few people even made just 2 new commands to add to Astralixi, especially that it is only semi-open source. Just some basic cool command, would make my day.
Please, if you have the time, contribute to Astralixi, by making your own custom commands, by following the contribution guidelines in the readme.
I'm thinking about starting to work on a small humanoid robot as like a companion assistant.
Just imagine it being 15cm tall, having 3 wheels (maybe 4), and being completely autonomous, running an AI model on a pi zero 2W.
Feel free to ask any questions...
Hey everyone!
If you're obsessed with space, rocket engineering, and tech, you should definitely join the Space Guild.
I'm super active in there, and since I upload content on my space channel, I'm really pushing to help build it up into a thriving community—especially since the current owner has been pretty inactive lately.
If you love nerding out over hardware, engine specs, or just tracking the latest missions, we need more people to talk with. Whether you're a complete beginner or a total rocket...
Need model rocketry help/advice
Anyone here done some/lots of model rocketry before? Because I am reaching out to ask if it is possible to have 2 engines or 3 engines at the bottom of your rocket (this is due to engine power regulations in my country)
My this I mean that imagine you are looking down the body tube, there would be three engines all together in a triangular or two engines side by side structure.
If so, how would I ignite them all at once without one igniting before the other(s).
Thanks!
I have this dislike of the "cloud"
Like, the cloud/data centres are fine for things like google searching, youtube, cyberspace :), netflix, corporate infrastructure, etc.
But things like AI, and data storage should not be handed over to the cloud, for over 80% of people. Most people have simple tasks they use AI for, which they have no reason to use a cloud-run AI model for, and with the average compute (8-16gb memory, etc) the models you could run on them is more than sufficient for the general public, and for power-users, they know how...
Can we trust corporations (that are in the main AI bubble) with Artificial Intelligence?
If the answer to this question is a No (for you), take this into account: Majority of AI super/heavy users are tech enthusiasts, or just nerds (people like you and me), and if they have the brains to know the impact of corpo-AI, then why are they running cloud AI, or supporting these AI companies in any way.
Running AI models locally has got easier than ever. In just 4gigs of memory you can run Qwen2.5-coder with 1.5B parameters, with 8gb ram you can get 3B or 7B, 16gb you can run 14B parameters (all...
If you were a space/rockets fan, what commands would you want to use as a tool to use that are space-related?
This is for astralixi: https://github.com/Astroxia/Astralixi

When do you all think, that people will be permanently living in space? Like not on a planet or a moon, but in a spaceship/station permanently?
By people, I mean more than one thousand. I believe that this can be possible by 2050. Up for debate.
I just watched the documentary: "The Social Dilemma"
I now admire Cyberspace so much more.
@genghis_khan please don't ruin cyberspace in the future :)
You get presented with 3 buttons:
- 1 will kill all of the people committing crimes and causing trouble
- 1 will make sure that every child on earth will be safe, and fed
- 1 will give you 1% of the total money on earth, but will give an additional 1% of the world have blindness
What would you all pick?
