  • Manages the Domain Name System (RFC 1035), including accreditation and the root zone
  • Much of the Internet Protocol (assigning IP blocks, not in how IP is designed)

  • Designs networking protocols under TCP/IP.
  • Designs general standards for the internet. Voluntary, but no one plays with you unless you listen to them.
• Regional Internet Registeries
  • Take up IPs and dish them out for their regions to ISPs (e.g, Asia-Pacfic, Europe/Middle East/Central Asia)
• Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
  • Developer of many low level standards, such as Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, despite these being managed by their own organisations often, the standards are made by the IEEE.
