Both articles did fairly well, and seem to have struck a nerve with some folks here, so today I spent some time handwriting, Codex'ing and Hermes Agent'ing a new space on my site for The Cyberpunk Wiki. Here is a launch blog going more in-depth on it.

What it isn't

This is not a wiki page for the popular game Cyberpunk: 2077. Nor is it a wiki page for the fiction genre Cyberpunk. I really love the fictional universes of Cyberpunk: 2077, I really love the books in the genre, but I think there's a more important gap missing that I want to fill. This isn't to say anything bad about the genre or fiction writing or world-building in general. I think there's an important role for fictional world-building in building the non-fictional future.

That said...

What CPW is

The Cyberpunk Wiki is a place to document the answers to the all-important questions:

• Where are the punks?!
• How can I help them?!
• Is there any hope?!

I've grown increasingly frustrated that it seems like we're going down the path of "Cyberpunk but with no punks." We're getting the corporate takeover of government, the surveillance and censorship, the police states, but we're not getting the chrome, the aesthetics, the cyber weapons and real life weapons to fight back. Cypherpunks have kinda... disappeared as a cultural force. Many of them went corpo themselves.

The Cyberpunk Wiki is my attempt at documenting the ongoing work, creating and documenting new projects and getting people plugged in to projects that aren't getting enough attention. It's documenting old movements that should be revived, bringing together research on disparate and sparsely documented topics like biohacking and 3DP firearms, doing interviews with people doing the heavy lifting and more.

Right now it's empty. There is a lot of research I want to do on everything from biohacking pharmaceuticals to hacker forums.

But first I want to ask: what do you want me to cover?
