symbology, magic and science

Reading more into the Hermeticists, Gnostics and mystic occult religions, it's interesting that so many of the symbols, runes, maps, charts, etc. that we believe were occult rituals were actually just people making notes trying to remember things using symbols and charts to map out relations between different objects and topics.

Sometimes they relayed a sort of mystical or magical property to these charts and symbols but for the most part, it was just dudes drawing mindmaps.

Looking at the way I scribble and scrawl my notes, I hope some future archaeologist doesn't think I was trying to summon Daemons from the depths of the silicon in my office...

... or maybe I am.
