[ESC]I need folks to separate LLMs as a tool from the political and economic disagreements you have with the way it arrived.
I agree that video and image generating models should have been trained on images with permission and compensation. I disagree with the premise that open source code and produced knowledge bases should not have been used in training corpuses but I understand the argument.
But by misaligning the tool as being completely useless and entirely detrimental to society because you disagree with the political and economic landscape that gave rise to it makes for a poor argument. I disagree with those landscapes as well, but I believe fully that proper usage of these tools can be positively transformative for humanity, even in direct opposition to those landscapes.
