event horizon deserved better

finally got around to knocking this off my list and what the fuck ??? why are the reviews so low am i just crazy???? beautiful ass set design, nasty as hell, campy in the best ways?? what was it that led to such poor reception? i think the ending is like, whatever; it's crazy to do a flash forward 2.5 months, and then just end it. but like, outside of that it was fine ya know. by no means a 10/10 and certainly doesn't do as well as "Hellraiser", but like what a fun spin on the genre, and a fun nod to it's predecessors. i think a movie like "Sunshine" tackled the concept in a much more interesting fashion of course, but i was kinda blown away by "Event Horizon."
