There've been a lot data breaches recently, most of which involving govermental entities and their 3rd party companies.
Everytime some comercial or governamental entity starts collecting data further than necesarry, it just becomes a hazard to the safety of an insane amount of people. Internet safety should not come at the cost of privacy, especially since internet etiquette has been around for longer than most of these companies and its always been about not sharing any of your information to strangers.

I can understand the basic idea of their intention, whatever they say about child safety. But child safety has been gone ever since kids' websites such as Club Penguin (And Mundo Gaturro my beloved) were shutdown out of a need for profit or such, thus driving kids into social media sites where most of these problems began rising since the algorithms are all made with the intention of keeping people (kids lots more often) coming back. And it isn't just adults' sites being invaded by kids who had nowhere else to go. For example, Roblox's CEO has been pushing for new features aimed at adults on the platform, seemingly capitalizing off the E-Dating Market in there + him thinking it was a good idea to introduce kids on the platform to prediction gambling on an interview.

Back to topic (As if we were out of topic). Its not just the fact that the data is breached, but also sold. And its not just being sold to marketing companies, which I dont mind seeing my data being sold to most of the time current things considered. But the data is also being sold to AI companies, which bothers me a lot since AI is not well known for being any safer. That data being sold to AI companies is turned into AI training material, this includes the faces and facial features of kids, so many things can go wrong because of this.

With all that being said, I doubt much will be done. All regulations I've seen being put out regarding this issue have all surrounded the User end, barely the publisher and corpos. They've begun recollecting data to categorize you, as oppossed to working on actual safety, since that would drive away profit.

Sorry for the bad english, I may not be a beginner but I do struggle from time to time. Im not an expert on any of these topics, im just sharing my thoughts.
