Crawler TTRPG Devlog 5 - What's in a Character Sheet?

Hello kind people of Cyberspace! It's time for another devlog. I realized the last time i posted that i should probably not talk about specifics without giving some sort of general explanation of what a character sheet looks like. And so: i present a guided tour of a character sheet!
I'll give a brief explanation of each section as we go along.
I am currently rushing to create pre-gens for the playtest on Friday, re-adjusting all the skill values and abilities to work with the new dice system, so here is one of those pre-gens!
Meet Aram Traverso: Spectacularly indebted Mid Level Cubicle Suit with an amphetamine addiction.
Below are links to what the actual Character Sheet looks like. (the numbers in the linked sheet are wrong due to the Dice System changing as described in a previous Devlog. In general i like the overall concept for the layout but there are many things that could be improved in later iterations)

- The General Character info, OCCUPATION is the only mechanically relevant section here, there are 28 possible occupations, grouped into 10 categories: Corps, Mainties, Beefs, etc...

- Starting allocation 4 pts
- Abilities can be used 1/day
- Each Occupation category gives 1 ability, each category subtype gives 1 more, 3rd ability is free choice from a pool defined by occupation subcategory
- Considering giving option to gain 4th ability in longer campaign play
- Currently most ability effects are bonus/reroll however some such as Bathtub Alchemist grant the ability to manufacture drugs/meds, am looking for inspiration for more skills that offer interesting effects.

- Detailed Explanation of weapons/combat system to follow, thankfully Aram here doesn't know how to use guns. Weapons are designed to have a wide variety of ammo that can be used (and the vast majority the PCs are likely to find are DIY frankenguns)
- This area shows the default stats of a weapon using basic ammo.
- The layout of this section will most likely need some work to help players track which ammo is currently loaded, but this is a problem for future, more combat heavy playtests

- Similar to the previous section this system will need much polish.
- Each damage type has its own damage table that is rolled against when a hit is scored. taking into account the weapon's damage type, damage mod, and targets armor DR. then a D10+finalMod is rolled against the table, and the resulting wounds/statuses are applied.
- Each armor a PC can equip protects differently for each damage type.
- Each time a PC takes damage of a specific type, their armor is damaged and the DR goes down by 1 (to a minimum of 0)
- Aram's armor stats are the basic stats for civilian clothing

- Here we get into the Financials of the character. the world of crawler is shitty is a very familiar way. everything works on debt, and your PC needs a job to atleast keep the lights on (Aram has made some bad decisions in his life that will soon become apparent)
- Occupations have a Credit Rating that modifies the rolls when determining the employer scale and PCs income. The higher those rolls the more income, up to 1000KC/month.

- Lifestyle expenses and starting debt are generated in a similar way, the Credit rating also modifies the Lifestyle expenses (Aram Maxed out this roll) as well as starting debt (Not max but still very high here)
- but hey a kingly lifestyle comes with a car you're leasing!
- Loans are paid back in minimum 10%/Month increments, i considered including interest as a mechanic but that would just be cruel and far too much math.
- The Player and GM work to decide the source of the PCs starting debt, and the GM assigns an Owner that the debt is owed to (tables are provided based on debt type)
- Other sources of debt can come from a few places most commonly Augs or Occupation perks. in this case Aram has a Smart Coms implant that is leased from his employers for 10KC/month.
- For one shots, this section just serves as a motivator for the PC, explaining the age old question of WHY this person is adventuring. but in campaign play, if the PC is short for cash the player can choose which debt to pay off, leading either to lifestyle consequences, loan sharks coming for them, or even their augs being turned against them!

- The player can choose to take on more debt to purchase additional augs at the GMs discretion
- This section is not entirely fleshed out, and i expect the layout to change quite a bit as time goes on
- NOTE: Augs are not as common here as in a game like cyberpunk red or shadowrun. The tech does exist, but the silicone shortage and general loss of technical knowledge after the deconsolidation wars the ability to manufacture the very high end Augs are closely guarded corp secrets.

- each character works with the GM to create an amount of contacts, people they have some sort of relationship with. Aram's a pretty lonely guy, and seems to have only transactional relationships, however this does not have to be the case.
