"War isn't Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse... There are no innocent bystanders in Hell." - Mash character Hawkeye.

I honestly believe the reason I grew up and already knew that joining the military was evil was because of Mash. Killing another is a horrible act, it goes against human nature which is why training people for it involves propaganda to get interest, training, desensitisation and from the people I've spoken to who've served; the removal of one's own humanity.

In the end there are no reasons to go to war, we could (if everyone really wanted to) solve our problems peacefully through cooperation.
Instead we have a corrupt system designed in a way to train and force us to compete from a young age, we are told to fight to exist even though others have proved it was not needed.

We are all capable of compassion and kindness, despite the systems and nation states, people always end up helping each other; the one constant is love for each other. Everything else is a distraction.

We have found that during the times of early human society instead of "survive of the fittest" our ancestors had chosen to care for and integrate members of their community who were crippled and would never be able to "pull their own weight". We must ask ourselves if we really want to be more "unsophisticated" than our "primitive" ancestors.

We drain tons of drinkable milk so that the price stays where it is, we throw out tons upon tons of perfectly healthy and edible produce, there are cheese caves for christ sake. But all of this is used to incentivise us to fight for what remains and believe that there is but a limited stock.

Remember to be kind to each other, love one another and look out for each other.
All change starts small and local.
