The Talking Book - Bill Gould. A dark and isolating experimental album.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not an experimental music connoisseur, so my viewpoint can be a little narrow regarding this style of music.

This has to be one of the weirdest albums I've ever heard, yet one of the most haunting and interesting. I've been listening to it ever since I played that flash game from 2011 called Rebuild 2 (if you played this, you're awesome).

I remember that game was great, but what stuck with me was the song that played over and over again. It was called "Sundown". The second song from the album. It took me quite a while to find the rest.

At the time, I was completely immersed into music and I really wanted to have a closer look into the album. It took me hours to find the full album (we're talking 2011 here, I was still a teenager and English not being my main language was a huge barrier at the time). Once I finally did, it struck a chord with me.

How can I describe it?

Have you read "Blood Meridian"? If so, this is a great soundtrack for it.

Have you ever been in a dreadful place? One that feels liminal and dark, both at the same time? Well, this is the music that would bring that shape to the world if it could.

Ever since 2011, I've listened to the album at least once every two years. I love it for some reason, and if I'm not wrong this is the only experimental album I'm fond of.

Anyhow, just wanted to talk about it cuz it's that time of the two-year (?) that I listen to it. It still holds up. It's still creepy. It's still haunting. It's still fantastic.
