[ESC]fun little toy experiment that turned into full blown social simulation
not really a game per se but more of like a sandbox game similar to godus or populous, check it out here:
https://pages.cyberspace.online/sajuuk/
basically the simulation involves mating only at first and npcs would go about their day tending crops, harvesting coconuts, throwing coconuts at random npcs and then along the way i added some rivalry between males like jealousy and broke the system i was building because "society" collapsed within a few seconds; you can try it in the settings menu by increasing their aggression :D
watching society crumble as men fight over a woman made me lose my shit whenever i adjust some parameters xdd it's honestly hilarious.
this project was supposed to be a little experimentation on emergent gameplay to add to my isometric dungeon game but i had fun messing around with the settings and conditions that it basically became its own social experiment simulation about human interaction lol.
anyways, here's a turtle town (name was made hastily and it reminds me of a videogamedunkey video).
this took like around ~4 days to finish, i got the experience needed to continue working on my other game because i finally got the immersive/emergent gameplay elements a bit right.
fun fact: the tilesets are from a minecraft texture pack, compressed inside aseprite and repainted the borders so it won't have seams when rendered, the water however was a megaman sprite skewed 45 degrees in photoshop then mangled the dimensions in aseprite to achieve that isometric look
