Fixing a mouse scroll wheel

I use a cheap mouse, Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse 2.0, It doesn't have much going for it but I'm used to it and love it.

Few weeks ago a problem accrued, when I press left or right buttons and try to scroll in the same time the mouse wheel doesn't spin freely. Today I decided to finally fix it I opened the mouse thinking it was a problem of something getting stuck inside, as far as I can tell it was not. So I did the next best thing, I resized the mouse wheel hole! Took a bit of filing to do but now it spins like new again.

I really enjoy fixing problems like this and not just going "oh well I guess time to buy a new one", even if this mouse is cheap.
