[ESC]What do you guys use as a youtube frontend?
I have been searching for a local or self-hosted open-source youtube fronted/software for the longest time. My current setup is NewPipe on my phone, FreeTube on my laptop and Tubearchivist on my homeserver. I use Tubearchivist to track videos from my subscriptions and download them to watch later locally. The other 2 apps I use for watching videos from channels I'm not subscribed to.
Tubearchivist does its job perfectly well but it is for archiving and not casually browsing and watching youtube. Rescanning subscriptions for videos take too long and it consumes a considerable amount of resources even when idling. There is no easy way to keep NewPipe and FreeTube synchronized, which is a massive deal breaker for me.
Ideally I'm looking for an app that can be easily and seamlessly synced between multiple devices, has local subscriptions and allows downloads to watch later. I have tried Grayjay but is still in early development and full of bugs. I have thought about self-hosting a frontend like Invidious but I can't justify the resource usage for a task that can be locally achieved.
