Ug, triggering conversation

So I had a conversation that made me quite sad. An older person who seemed cool (yoga, meditation, cares about nature) and I had a convo about the future and climate change, exactly how it would effect the land, which rivers would dry out et cetera. And the person was quite knowledgable about that so it was good to discuss geological and ecological details. But then, when talking about the dire future in a few years, which includes how climate change will affect me (more), the person said "but it doesn't matter because we won't be here. I'm sorry but it doesn't matter." this person cluelessly said that to someone who is not an old, not part of that "we" and will probably be here in the future timeframe discussed. I'm beyond disgusted.

They really don't care do they.
