Yet another post about AI.

Talking to a friend the other day, I spontaneously asked "Would you date an AI", and recieved "hell no" as an answer. I then clarified that I didn't mean an LLM, and the answer was still "no". The reason he gave, is that what it feels would never be real. It could sell the illusion of having emotions, but it can never experience life like a human can.

I brought up that an AI, as in real AGI, would be just as sapient as us, and just as sapient as an alien would be. An AGI would be an alien, insofar as the dictionary definition of "foreign, strange, or from another world". While not an extraterrestrial, it would still be a non-human intelligence.

Anyway, my point boiled down to "Would you date an alien? Because if you'd date a non-human, an AGI is a non-human. It would depend on if you personally would consider a synthetic life form to be to your attraction, not so much 'humans' vs 'not just humans'".

The point in this is to ask if you would consider an AGI a "sapient being", thus capable of being truly loved or giving love, and not "emulating" it. In the same vein, if you'd consider any other sort of extraterrestrial capable of that too, organic or not, and thus if you'd be open to that kind of relationship. Not necessarily involving you, but in general, approving of a human and non-human relationship.
