Another long lapse

Hey folks, it’s Lefthook. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I have CS on my Home Screen every day and I love the action in here.

Anthony Bourdain once said:

“Travel isn't always pretty. It isn't always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that's okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body.”

Small organizations experience unique volatility. For example, rapid turnover at my new company means I may become a senior employee within six months. In the case of Cyberspace, explosive growth means big sudden changes in the community, some members lurk out or go dark, and new voices bring unfamiliar perspectives.

I’ll be honest: I struggle to comprehend much of the newer wave of users’ posts. I feel that this might be due to skewing younger but also I give a carve out for the fantastic ESL speakers that do their best. I’m only 35 but I’m pretty sure that a growing percentage of this site’s user base and humanity writ large simply wasn’t brought up on linear text expressions, particularly of emotional subjects, opinions, etc.

This leads to a new artifact style among the posts I read. In so many posts lately I know the user means something deeper than what they’re able to express. I can’t point to one post or find good examples, but I only hope that limited constructs such as Cyberspace restrain people in such a way that their creative impulses are triggered to maximize the limits of the environment to the goal of improving expression, adaptability, development and enjoyment.

TLDR Cyberspace might be brain exercise; read more books, everyone. <3
