[ESC]There's two things I do.
A is have no consistency. Which I believe to be a matter of the insufferable amount of stimuli that the world has in store for us today.
I listen to alot of EDM (alot) very much so. Some how melody quiets the storm that my head receives from the environment around me.
I also spend 3-5 hours a night watching multiple documentaries and podcasts about geo-politcal affairs, cultures, and economics to fall asleep to. I could give you some good picks for Youtubers on geopolitical or technological affairs ranging from MIT to military members and macro-economics analysts.
I have found that where I live I am the happiest, and most technologically gifted on the whole street and maybe one of the few in the town outside of the hospital and some computer shops that care about technology the way I do.
I want to start creating instead of consuming however I am surrounded by so much poverty and pain that I want to shut the world out and create my own sanctuary of intellect to hide from the pain I see in my community and neighborhood. Probably not the move.
I have been studying language recently. Like the movie "Arrival" I truly believe that writing unlocks a part of your brain that has to slow down and process what your thinking. I'm talking about actually handwriting and sometimes I practice cursive just to slow down even more. It is said that cursive helps with memory.
I see a tradeoff between being online and typing at 100 wpm and writing at a tiny fraction of that. When your typing your letting energy and stimuli flow in and right out of you like your wielding thought subconsciously. When you write your forced to face that energy and use it much more consciously to reflect back at you and you must then ponder like you don't normally do.
I feel we have yearned as a society to be more connected and subconscious than individualistic. We are creating networks and standards and becoming some sort of hive mind instead of unique in our own rights. Maybe this is what big tech has intended for us.
