Welcome, beings from beyond the world!

It's my first post here, and I have a fun fact (and a little rant) for you!

As you probably know, the Golden Record aboard Voyager contained recordings of greetings in many different languages, and there was a Polish version too.

The greeting was:

"Welcome, beings from beyond the world!"

(PL: "Witajcie, istoty z zaświatów")

But there's a little problem: in Polish (even more so than in English), this sentence doesn't make any sense in the context of a space mission.

If someone says "zaświaty" ("beyond the world"), they would almost certainly think about heaven, hell, or some other place we go after death. This is the only sentence I know of in which this word is used to refer to outer space.

As a Pole, I have a personal Roman Empire about this, because it sounds like the woman who recorded this greeting didn't actually know what she was saying.
