Noob-friendly LoRa/radio start?

I'm becoming more interested in odd or analogue tech like magnetic/magneto-optical storage, alternative networks and radio transmissions. Is there something like a "very noob/completely ignorant on the subject matter" starting guide? Specially in risks like interfering on protected broadcasts that I SHOULD NOT interfere even on accident, and what to know before starting.

For now, I'm looking periodically at tunning at internet broadcast radio stations, some of them seemingly can catch numbers stations in some hours... Seems quite curious.
