Learning GUI in Java, wanna learn some more frontend and make custom shells

After some slow months learning about the very basics of Java syntax, data types, what is a variable and how to declare one, loops and their conditions, doing mathematical operations, etc. And then learning about methods, classes, arguments and parameters, constructors, attributes, objects;

I'm about to learn how to do some GUI in Java. I'm excited! I really want to know how to program visual interfaces. I have spent a lot of time tweaking my linux desktops to look just right. I would love to know how to do complex shapes and animations.

I think coding that will probably be much more of an undertaking than i think (maybe won't be in Java), but i would like to try to experiment with organic shapes. I recently saw this vibecoded quickshell config called "Bioma" that looks really nice to me. Reminds me of Spore, kind of. I'm not sure about the quality of the code, but i really like the heartbeat CPU animation and some of the weird organic shapes of the widgets.

I would like to create something similar in focus, with fully animated elements so it looks "alive" which is something that this shell intends. Yet,i think that instead of designing a "alive panels for a person using this ui", i'd like to try to create something that feels like "these are the guts of this animal (your computer)".

I like the process of learning how to use my computer only with my keyboard, which helps a lot in keeping a less cluttered UI. It's not a lot, but by setting up my own keybindings for things, i can remove the need for a button for them. The unintended effect is that some options and menues may not be obviously accessible to someone else trying to use my session. Whilst the purpose is not necessarily to alienate others, It does make it feel more personal to know to navigate and understand it without explicit icons/symbols and text describing everything. In the same vein, you could also have organic cues: weird gauges, liquids inside of amorphous containters, pulsating objects, branching tubes that may look like veins/roots/hyphae. Something that you set up yourself in a way you understand it's meaning, what those vibrating beans or guts mean, without the need to include a text to describe what the liquid or flow of the animation means.

(I'm trying not to learn coding without AI -I want to understand how to write this. I think that local models are cool and i might do that someday, but now i try to not use any LLMs. Maybe once i understand fully how to make this then i can use the assistance of an agent, for now i will try to learn about software's digital guts before trying to try to do some plastic surgery on top of a body of unknown properties and design.)

I think i will make some drawings about it.

Anyways, i gotta finish an assigment about methods of the Character and String classes, which i could've done in Main but i was forgetting how to create and use objects, with constructors and attributes, that i decided to make it all tidy inside objects with attributes and their own methods.
