[ESC]|> I’m really tempted to make a home server and host a private ‘Web channel’. Like internet cable television. Get some people on board to run programs or something for it. Maybe multiple channels for different themes?
|> Can’t really say I know how to go about setting one up. Tons of storage, no doubt. A stable connection in and out. A program to queue videos, insert bumpers or ads (preferably ones from indie creators), etc. Gotta research into it.
|> The other problem is that of copyrights. It shouldn’t be a problem starting off since it’ll be for friends, but anything past an okay sized group chat would pose problems. I remember Noodle on YouTube running into a few problems with just an internet radio (sexFM), and I can’t imagine what I’d run into for movies and videos. Probably going to be a shift to fully original or licensed works in the future.
|> If anyone has any ideas on what I could use to make the first small setup, the OS that would work best, and a good place to learn some wisdom on video/audio software programming would be much appreciated and shall be glorified in the hall of the web.
