Web Dreams: Perspectives of the World Wide Web

I don’t think the internet as a whole should be anyone’s home. It is a place filled with chaos, danger, and strife. It is also filled with beauty, whimsy, and… well. More chaos, which can be fun too. All alike to the physical world.

No. I think that the internet is more like the Wild West (hardly an original comparison) where individuals go out to find some land, build a home, and perform their individual rituals. A good analogy would be something like to a website.

There, others may sometimes pass through. If allowed, some of those individuals may stay to build with the first. Friends. This may grow further. Village, town, or city. Group chat, webrings, or social media. In the end, however, one must have a home.

A home is a place we return; a place that hosts the very essence of our individuality. Decorated are the walls with murals of our interests and passion. Furnishings of which invoke aesthetic, comfort, and/or utility. A place where you should be unapologetically you.

While not all of us can, or will, acquire the skills needed to build the foundations and ‘body’ of this house, there are always web-smiths willing to make use of their craft… if you have the coin!
