The history of this one is pretty cool. He wanted to make a song that would give English speakers a feeling of how an American song sounds to a foreigner.

I fell down a synthwave rabbit hole this year. Such an amazing genre to mine now that I know about it. I gre up in the 80s and 90s and this music really hits the mark.

Time for a Halt and Catch Fire rewatch. I highly recommend this show to chooms. Especially season 2 onwards. The character development over the 4 seasons for the 4 main characters is some of the best I've ever seen on TV. The show really captures the vibe of the time well, too.

Anyone else read this series? I like that they all kind of stand alone. I was reading in order a few years ago and feel like returning to it. My next one is Look to Windward.

How do you consume news these days? When I was a kid there was no Internet so people replied on newspapers, TV, and radio. "Mainstream media" seems to have largely fallen out of favour but I think there's a danger of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Some mainstream newspapers are held accountable to standards that online news sources aren't. I'm at a loss as to a strategy but I've landed on the following and I'm curious what other news junkies are up to these days.
