[ESC]no Panoposting tn, wanna share something with y'all. A bit of a long rant so strap in if you're willing
Just went down a rabbit hole That lead me to discovering Rebecca Black's current music. holy hell it's so good on so many levels
Along with sharing this sick af discovery (that I'm prolly late to the party to) I also wanted to get some opinions on something here, if you're willing to hear me yap. My question is: In your opinion, what year specifically do you feel that the internet "peaked"? Think of that year and hold onto it for a sec. Lemme see if I'm cooking or yapping cause I can't tell at this point lmao
As of right now, I'm leaning heavily on the social/artistic aspects of what's available in cyberspace and loving every second of it. I've only just started exploring sites such as this, and I've already explored more forms of expression in a few days than I have in what feels like my entire life. I'm starting to really believe that places like THIS \('o.o)/ are the the true "key" to reclaiming what we used to have with the internet. Maybe it's the high from finally expressing myself talking, or I'm being painfully optimistic, or I've got rose-tinted glasses on or god something worse. But genuinely ask yourself when you last admired the internet, both as a concept and out of respect for what it used to be. Is it mindblowing if you give it just a few seconds of thought, or is that just me? Now I'm not going to sit here and say that it was perfect by any means, believe me. But look at this interaction here, just observe it for a second. I've never met you and you've never met me. Yet here I am, a stranger spilling their guts out to you in art and thought through my profile, raw and unfiltered expression directly to my core. And if you're reading this for whatever reason, does the fact that you're still reading mean something to you? To anyone? Not in a "Do I mean anything to you as a stranger?" kind of way or a "Does what I have to say hold meaning to you?" kind of way. Instead, do you value this interaction? This transaction between my soul and yours, text as the medium and my emotional attachment the currency, does this mean anything to you? Removing both of our egos, isn't it beautiful in a way that the internet allows an interaction between us like this to live? To thrive? Can we get that back, please?
Unlikely adventures require unlikely tools.

Think of THE year when the internet last felt like scratching that *gooooooood* itch for you. How would you rate the level of "socialization" authentically taking place in regard to human expression, 1 through 10? Think of all of the other, smaller ways we would authentically socialize with each other during this "peak" era. I'd love to know, what's missing today from your perspective? What did this "peak internet" year have at that point in time that we cannot seem to find anymore, collectively at least...
If your "peak internet year" is tied to experiencing what it was like interacting, creating, and consuming works made by total strangers with a bit more whimsy my guess is that your "peak year" is likely within the range of '09-'14. Lemme know how I did with my guess haha...
As a bit of a refresher to what I mean, I highly recommend the that you watch all of the YouTube Rewind videos in order (click me if you wanna) and just watch the car accident happen in slow motion with each year.
I just hope we can get back to that feeling someday
And that is what lead me to discovering Rebecca Black's more recent music. That is all :D
