Albania has a bot as a state minister, corpo ceos have bought their way into the white house, we have people confessing sins to an AI, and an emerging mental health crisis where people are believing a bot can help them create the singularity or learn to teleport, etc.

..And that's just the surface stuff.

When I was 16 and I read Neuromancer, Metrophage and Snowcrash, I always wanted to live in these worlds. I wanted to sit across from Dixie Flatline in a console cowboy bar, wanted to harpoon cars and skateboard on the highway like YT-- and now there are eksates that can go at highway speeds.

At what point do we recognize that the cyberpunk worlds we love have finally become real and just.. double down? Start throwing out cyber slang, be transhuman, do crimes?
