The Importance of Boredom

"Boredom": The state of being weary and restless through lack of interest.

Truly every aspect in our society points to the fact that boredom should be avoided, for sake of endless entertainment and pleasure. With younger generations never truly knowing what it feels like.

Even the definition leans towards a negative viewpoint on the matter but I would like to propose something possibly odd.

Boredom is humanities mechanism for creativity. Through the compaction, pruning, and development of experiences, ideas, and observations. It shows itself to be truly necessary for those that intend to explore the edges of reality and chasms of their own mind.

May we, dear fellow traversers of this confusing existence allow ourselves to be simply bored. To stop moving, building, seeking, and to just BE.
