[ESC]Smart watch
So I have been wanting to do some sort of smart watch for a little while, something simple that I can expand on, I really didn't want to spend the money on a very expensive watch and while studying to be an electrical engineer I want to keep my software development skills up. The plan is to have a clock of course, then later music control for my phone, then a simple weather mapper. I do want to make some sort of web service on it as well for note taking or at least viewing.
Smart watches on the market are either completely limited at the low end and annoying to jail break, or way to expensive to be viable. so Waveshare to the rescue with their prototype watch board. its an ESP32C6 which doesn't really have the ram or the cores for anything really special like a S3, but for initial development it should be alright for me. I want something cyberpunk-esque, and while the body of the watch is basic, it will do. I could quite easily go on a rant on the lack of design in modern items. its just pure engineering and incredibly boring, "have you seen the latest black slab of metal with a screen?!". Anyway I digress. At some point, I think I might try to integrate a raspberry pi zero 2w into it when I get a 3d printer to make it more powerful and just used the esp32 as the IO management device. But for now I need to get something loaded on to the device. I just want to get the a clock showing and saving with the time.
