trying out linux for the third time

A while back I dual-booted Linux on my gaming pc and I absolutely loved it, but in the grand tradition that is my dumpster fire brain, I got angry with it, uninstalled it, and forgot why. Did it again and the same cycle, but this time I have a plan.

I have two older macbooks, one 2007 and one 2015, and I'm going to try Linux Mint on one of them and just fuck around with it. It was too stressful trying to daily drive PopOS when I kept needing non-linux programs (adobe suite, some steam games, professional astrology software, scrivener). I don't need adobe anymore thank god, and I still have a pc laptop and gaming desktop machine for windows nonsense.

After a weird work history in web design, tech stuff can kind overwhelm me easily and I am trying not to spend my whole life in front of a computer. But I feel like linux will let me spend my time better, learning to use and build things instead of watching youtube, browser window shopping, etc.

And I pretty much refuse to buy new computers now that they're infested with AI trash so I better get good at soldering and frankensteining shit ig. YAY NEW HOBBIES.
