To any Hemingway fans out there.... which book of his would you recommend to start?
I ordered a copy of A Farewell To Arms since life during wartime sounds like a fun read. I've also been reading a collection of notes and letters from Hemingway and the majority of my favorite writings were from The Green Hills Of Africa. Thinking about getting that one!!!!
Any recommendations?
P.S: I'm not a big fan of the collection sets I've found for this books. Either their too expensive or the book...
It’s been a long busy week, but the mad grind is finally over. Now I can get back to posting my 365 Songs!
For the 25th song (January 25th) we have a song from a band unlike others during their time period. Wearing their influences on their sleeves like a badge of stolen valor, led by the brain, producer & soul of the band Chris Goss, the man has also produced bands like Kyuss & Queens Of The Stone Age. Behold a song that is both fresh and nostalgic of the classic bands of old.

January 24ths 365 Song! (Only two more till I catch up :)
Honestly, this band just f***ing rocks! These two sisters shook up the Rock N Roll world in a storm! Backed by an incredible live band, they were more than just the American answer to the heavy British sounds of Led Zeppelin & Deep Purple!
Barracuda : HEART
365 Song for January 23rd (I’m catching up I swear)
A band so underground, they had completely disintegrated after their 1991 release failed to claim critical success for their label. Now with their music being taken off of streaming platforms, this band has survived purely via word of mouth. If anything, the mystique they’ve garnered will make them a band everyone will remember.
When You Sleep : MY BLOODY VALENTINE
Man, I have some catching up to do!
First 365 Song for checks notes
Jan. 22nd!
A catchy dance tune from a band that help paved way for the alternative of the bombastic guitar solo field sound of the 70s and the glitz and glam of the 80s, a band from the city that never sleeps cause people were too busy dancing to their music!
Life During Wartime : TALKING HEADS
Man, I have three days worth of songs to post! I’m going to post different tunes throughout the day instead of sharing a three parter song like I have with the rest.
Today’s (Jan 21’st) 365 Song is going to be from a bunch of canucks that take the modern indie pop rock sound and twist it in a few different directions to give it their own sonic stamp.
Magpie : PEACH PITT
Here’s an odd one for tonight’s 365 Song.
A band from the Washington D.C area known for……. Well to be honest I don’t know anything about these guys :d
What I do know is that this song is oddly catchy with its melody playing over an odd beat that shifts whenever it wants to. Hope you enjoy!
X-French T-Shirt : SHUDDER TO THINK
Man, remembering to post a song everyday is challenging :o
Here’s another twofer for yesterday and today. This time it’s a subliminal track from a legendary group from Cali. Known for their electrifying percussion section fusing rock and Latin rhythms, and of course one of the most influential figures in guitar rock history!
Black Magic Woman / Gypsy Queen : SANTANA
On tonight’s tune for 365 Songs, a haunting and beautiful performance from a man who sounds like no other. Every recording and every performance I’ve seen of him has an ethereal presence. As if some spirit was there, channeling itself through his guitar and his voice.
So Real : JEFF BUCKLEY
Wassup people! Totally forgot to post yesterdays 365 Song so I’ll post a two parter for this post.
This band was one of the biggest, if not THE biggest metal band during the 90’s. In a time where Metallica’s Black Album moved the heavy metal giants into a “Hard Rock” sound, these guys were carrying the torch for extreme music during a decade full of grunge, hip-hop & alternative. An emotional song that conveys a feeling of hopelessness that turns into a powerful charge in the end. For those who have...
Another night time post for today’s 365 Song.
Tonight’s tune will be a ballad from one of the most famous Rock bands to emerge from the 1990s. Often lumped in with the grunge giants of the time, this band proved that their sound was more than just loud guitars played with a slacker attitude. They had much more to prove with their sonic palette of delays pedals, jazz fusion inspired drum rhythms and even orchestral arrangements.
Luna : THE SMASHING PUMPKINS
Evening cyberspaceians, tonight’s song is going to be a drowsy, yet heavy impact on the senses.
A band somewhat popularized by having a whale on all of their album covers (it’s just that one cover I swear) these dudes from France combine heavy distorted guitars with odd time signatures and polyrhythms similar to nightmarish acts like Meshuggah, but in a way that makes it feel much more like a lucid dream then a dreaded nightmare.
Tonight’s 365 Song is…..
Flying Whales : GOJIRA
Happy Monday Cyberspace!
Here’s today’s 365 Song! A classic from the modern metal era of the 2000s where metal as a whole saw a resurgence of popularity after staying out of the limelight a bit during the 90s. If you were a kid during the mid 00’s you’ll probably recognize this song from a popular racing game franchise (that desperately needs to return!!!!)
My Curse : KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
Today’s 365 Song is dedicated to Bob Weir, one of the founding members of The Grateful Dead who passed today.
This track has always been one of my favorites. It’s Dead’s way of reflecting what was going on in the times with music by adding Disco & Funk elements to their sound. Catchy, groovy, while keeping their musicianship intact.
Shakedown Street : THE GRATEFUL DEAD
