[ESC]Book Nerds Rejoice!
I finally got around to setting up a Docker container for BookOrbit. It's a web server thing that holds all of my e-books and I can read them in the browser. I don't have an iPhone, so I can't use the app yet, but supposedly, one is coming to Android. The main feature that I'm happy about is two-way syncing. I have a Kobo, which is running Koreader. I'm able to set BookOrbit as my sync server, to regularly update my progress. If I happened to have another e-reader, I could keep it in line, but this also applies to the web-reader. This was something Calibre-Web-Auto did not do. So now, if I happen to have the web-reader up, or my Kobo, I'm in the same spot. I was also able to add my preferred font, make things look a little prettier, update some metadata, all in all, it was a pretty useful installation!
In other news, I've resolved my Bluetooth issue thanks to a buddy of mine. I set up a WirePlumber configuration so that my Bluetooth headphones would only connect through A2DP, the higher quality audio profiles. I don't want them to do Telephony. I have a separate microphone to handle that, I just want the good audio quality. Cool, groovy, that's all fine and well. I went to pair my headset and it just would not hold a connection. Tried a different pair of Bluetooth headphones, and same issue, just will not sustain a connection. I was discussing it with some friends who are collectively the smartest folks I know. I was planning on just buying a dinky little USB Bluetooth dongle to get the job done, when one friend asked if my computer came with a Wi-Fi antenna. I said sure, yeah, but I'm using Ethernet for my connection. He points out that it's also my Bluetooth antenna. Since when was that a thing? Anyway, the antenna's plugged in, glad I didn't pitch it when I finished building my computer a couple of months ago! Bluetooth works as expected and I'm a happy camper.
