Can we trust corporations (that are in the main AI bubble) with Artificial Intelligence?

If the answer to this question is a No (for you), take this into account: Majority of AI super/heavy users are tech enthusiasts, or just nerds (people like you and me), and if they have the brains to know the impact of corpo-AI, then why are they running cloud AI, or supporting these AI companies in any way.

Running AI models locally has got easier than ever. In just 4gigs of memory you can run Qwen2.5-coder with 1.5B parameters, with 8gb ram you can get 3B or 7B, 16gb you can run 14B parameters (all depending on CPU/GPU power)

So why? AI is close to getting out of hand, just one simple decision could make those main bubble corpos billions, and create chaos.
