i dug up my ancient pixel 3a xl (still in fabulous condition!) and im wondering about ways to tinker with it. legacyOS looks really interesting. my daily phone is an iphone, which has frustrated me with some of its limitations-- namely no free ad blocker for apps and not being able to download 3rd party apps from the web. does anyone have recommendations for cool and useful things i could put on my old andriod?

after finding out about the panasonic letsnote and various funky vaio models i want a new laptop SO BAD. i'm quite spoiled since i own both a 2022 macbook pro and a 2019 lenovo legion. and yet... i love the idea of getting something like an old thinkpad to take apart and tinker with. does anyone else have a laptop/machine they're obsessed with right now? or anything interesting that they like showing off?

ive been blessed to have a small hack lab just across the street from my current dorm this semester. being a member has been absolutely transformative. ive met so many lovely nerds who've helped me become more creative, curious, and inspired. i'm going in later today to build a keypad from scratch! i feel so lucky! hack labs are such incredible third spaces.

trying to properly learn touch typing as a young adult has been very humbling

are there any good photoshop alternatives that aren't gimp? tbf it's been years since i've tried using gimp, so if it's gotten better i could give it a shot again

i love using asahi linux on an m1 mac because i get to win the suffering olympics every time. i cant run a x86_64 program. or an external monitor for that matter

i've spent a while watching mainly commentary youtubers for videos to put on while i game and do other things, but constantly getting blasted with terrible pop culture and current event news has made it not so fun. does anyone have any youtubers they watch that are relaxing, funny, not too serious, etc?

I'm aesly, a girl in her early 20s from the US, although I'm currently studying abroad in the UK for the sem! i'm studying engineering which is what ultimately made me fall down a rabbit hole of alternative tech and hardware modding and such. i read a LOT, like to play RPGs, and have begun messing around with DJing. i've always wanted a blog, but i just couldn't with the state of tumblr these days, so i'm really happy to have discovered cyberspace!
